Please stay well away from this business!! Unfortunately Blair did not pick up on old termite damage during a pre-purchase inspection on our property. His inspection was not thorough enough and the flow-on effects are incredibly devastating. The damage was only identified during a termite specialist routine inspection after we moved in. The damage to bearers/joists and beams is classed by builders/termite specialists as severe and definitely damage that has been there for around 10+years ie. definitely present when Blair did his inspection!! If we had known about the damage, we would have had grounds to negotiate on price or not purchase the house. Unfortunately we paid top dollar for the property! We are now in the middle of a kitchen renovation and the old termite damage has been found to be severe and not just confined to the porch area as originally believed...this is obviously resulting in the need for major structural work/costs including full demolition of bathroom. We highly regret using OCPS building inspections. In hindsight we should have paid for separate pre-purchase inspections by both a registered builder AND termite specialist. Our builders have informed us that anyone can do the training to become a registered building inspector like Blair and it is best to instead seek an investigation from a 'registered builder' before purchasing a home. We put this here to hopefully stop this happening to other people...please seek the advice from a registered builder before purchasing a home otherwise you run the risk of being caught out like us years later and the effects are devastating and incredibly costly 🥲
