Practical Completion Inspection (PCI)

24-Hour Report Turnaround

Description

The Practical Completion Inspection (PCI), or handover inspection, is the most important assessment conducted just before you take possession of your newly built home. This independent inspection ensures that all construction work has been completed according to the specifications, the Building Code of Australia, and Australian Standards. The main purpose is to determine if the home is free of major defects, is safe, and is fit for occupation. Our registered builders meticulously evaluate both internal and external components. Internal checks include the underfloor structure, roof space, and a room-by-room assessment of the quality of finishes, ceilings, cornices, walls, skirting, cabinetry, tiling, and plumbing fixtures. We also test the operation of the hot water system, oven, rangehood, air-conditioning, and garage doors, while checking for scratches on glass, mirrors, and ceramic tiles. External checks cover the front elevation, roof cover (including ridge caps, valleys, flashings, and gutters), external brickwork, render, and outside areas like balconies, garages, paving, and fences. Following the inspection, you will receive a detailed, customized same-day report within 24 hours. This comprehensive report includes plain-English commentary, photographic evidence, and even video content to document all findings, ensuring your new house is delivered to the highest standard.
