Handover Defects Inspection
Description
You have been closely involved in the building of your new house for months. The completion date is just about in sight and you are already making plans on where the furniture will go. But, just before you sign off to take ownership, did you inspect every aspect of the building for compliance and workmanship? A handover inspection is an evaluation of your newly built house BEFORE you take ownership. This is where Resicert will go through everything in the property, from foundations to the ridge beam and make certain everything is as it should be. This is your last chance to detect any concerns with the property before you take ownership and the contractor is done. You want everything to be right in order to prevent any disputes with the builder later on who is responsible for the problem and whether it is covered by your warranty. The property inspector will tune in to any specific concerns you may have. The inspector will complete a top to bottom assessment, inside and out including basement walls and foundation, roof and flashing, exterior walls and siding, each room including any fixtures, fittings, door and window hardware, and drainage. We check to make sure all work is complete, inspect the quality of the work, and make sure you are getting exactly what you paid for.
