Pre-Handover Defects
Description
The pre-handover defects inspection is the final stage assessment designed to evaluate the overall quality and compliance of a house that the builder has deemed ready for handover. It is highly important that your builder is given the full opportunity to complete their schedule of works and execute their own internal defects list before Stewart Building Consultants carries out this Stage 4 Inspection. Allowing the builder to fulfill their obligations first is both sensible and courteous; assessing a home that is only 'nearly finished' can unnecessarily damage your working relationship with the builder. The home should be fully ready for occupation when we arrive. Conducted by Paul, a fully licensed and insured builder with over 40 years of industry experience, our inspection meticulously identifies any outstanding defects or compliance issues. Within 24 hours, you will receive an incredibly detailed, accurate, and factual report complete with photographic evidence. After receiving our report, you should consult with your builder and allow an agreed period of time to rectify any identified issues to your complete satisfaction before taking possession of your home. This thorough, independent process is becoming increasingly popular, providing homeowners with ultimate peace of mind before final payment.
