New Home Practical Completion Inspection

Fixed $440inc. GST
24-Hour Report Turnaround

Description

The handover or practical completion stage takes place when all the trades have completed their tasks and fixtures are fitted. This inspection looks at the quality of the construction and finishing and looks for minor defects as well. During a practical completion inspection (PCI), our inspectors will verify that all construction work has been completed to the required standard and check for any defects or issues that may need to be addressed before the builder hands over the property. The inspector conducts comprehensive safety hazard checks, brickwork and cladding checks, door and door frame installation checks, and windows and window frame installation checks. They also thoroughly evaluate ceiling and wall finishes, tiles and joints quality, cabinetry and timber work, fixtures and fittings, and the overall construction quality. This ensures the new home owner that the build matches the approved design plans, building codes, and Australian Standards. Because not all builders are equal and many tradespeople are involved in the building process, significant defects can sometimes go undetected. Unfortunately for an unsuspecting home buyer, many major structural defects are not visible to the untrained eye. Conducting a practical completion inspection empowers the future homeowner by providing an independent, objective assessment of the completed build. Our experienced inspectors act as your eyes and ears, ensuring the builder complies with all relevant standards before you make your final progress payment and take possession of the keys.
