It features basic plumbing checks, including taps, showers, toilet pans, cisterns, and installation defects, as well as general testing of light switches, ceiling fans, and basic testing of appliances like oven hotplates, rangehoods, and air conditioners. The inspector will also assess the condition of wiring in the roof space, note any modifications by unqualified trades, and evaluate silicone sealants and the performance of wet area waterproofing. The inspection covers the degradation of painting where structural elements are affected, the general condition of cabinetry, stairs, balustrading, exterior steps, and paving.
